Laura Farrior was appointed as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Deputy Assistant Inspector General (DAIG) for Management in November 2013. The mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is to promote the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of HUD programs to assist the Department in meeting its mission. Ms. Farrior has a long, distinguished public service career in the Federal government and was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2016. In her role as DAIG for Management, Ms. Farrior is responsible for budget and administrative services, contracts and procurement, human resources, training, and communications
In her tenure at HUD OIG, Ms. Farrior has served in a myriad of senior management assignments and leadership positions and her experience and record of accomplishment are exemplary. Ms. Farrior joined HUD OIG in February 2007 and has held the positions of Human Resources Consultant, Director of Management Services Division, Director of Human Capital Division, and Acting Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management. While serving with HUD OIG, Ms. Farrior received the agency’s Inspector General Award, as well as numerous special achievement awards and commendations. Her stewardship of the organization’s and taxpayer’s money is well-noted.
Prior to joining HUD OIG, Ms. Farrior worked in the human resources field at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and at several agencies within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She has more than 34 years of Federal experience in the areas of human capital and performance management, training and development, budget and finance, procurement and contracting, internal and external communications, and space and property management.
A native of North Carolina, Ms. Farrior currently lives in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area with her husband and one son.
