Laura Farrior was appointed as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Deputy Assistant Inspector General (DAIG) for Management in October 2013. The Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) mission is independent and objective reporting to the HUD Secretary and Congress for the purpose of bringing about positive change in the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of HUD operations. In her role as DAIG for Management, Ms. Farrior is responsible for budget and administrative services, contracts and procurement, human resources, training, communications, and the OIG hotline.
Before her appointment as DAIG, Ms. Farrior served in various capacities within HUD OIG. She held the positions of Human Resources Consultant, Director of the Management Services Division, and Acting Director of the Human Capital Division. Ms. Farrior has had a long Federal career and has worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and several agencies within the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the human resources field.
She is a 2012 graduate of the Federal Executive Institute. A native of North Carolina, Ms. Farrior has lived in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area for more than 29 years. She and her husband, Larry, live in Virginia with their two adult sons, Byron and Brandon.
