Jeffrey Breen serves as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Inspector General (HUD OIG). Mr. Breen brings more than a decade of experience leading complex investigative operations across federal oversight and law enforcement missions. In his role, he helps guide nationwide investigative efforts addressing fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct affecting HUD programs and operations.
Before joining HUD OIG, Mr. Breen served as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General. At VA OIG, he also held leadership positions as Special Agent in Charge of the South‑Central Field Office and Resident Agent in Charge in San Antonio, Texas.
Prior to his federal oversight roles, Mr. Breen served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service in Newark, New Jersey. He began his career as an attorney in private practice.
Mr. Breen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School.
