The Efficiency of HUD’s Hiring Process
Published Report(s)
02/2020 Human Resource Management and Procurement Other District of Columbia

Summary

HUD OIG is evaluating HUD’s hiring efficiency.  HUD included improving hiring and human capital functions as a strategic objective in its Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2022 Strategic Plan, and OIG has identified Human Capital as a Top Management Challenge for HUD in FY 2020. Our objectives are to: (1) Determine how HUD hires new employees; (2) Determine if HUD is able to hire new employees in a timely manner; (3)Determine if HUD’s ongoing efforts to reduce the average time-to-hire are having the intended effect, and; (4) Compare HUD’s hiring practices and timeframes to other similarly-sized Federal agencies.
