(Source: kjas.com) Federal authorities have announced that they have just completed an investigation of The Jasper Housing Authority and its executive director, John Molt, and the feds say they have discovered a pattern of abuse of capacity, misused equipment, and over $91,000.00 in misused funds, and they say they’re demanding that it all be paid back.
In a report released by the Office of the Inspector General of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, they released a list of expenses - many of which were paid for with the Jasper Housing Authority’s Visa card - which included a $30.00 purchase of two rods & reels and a $15 purchase of an outdoor mesh chair, both on April 13th, 2015. The list also showed the purchase of a $115.00 10’ X 10’ gazebo on in September 2015, and all were claimed as “maintenance materials”.
The report also listed purchases at convenience stores in Kirbyville, Winnie, and on the Bolivar Peninsula, all listed as “travel or training”, for a total of $110.00...
